Frequently Asked Questions
Why did the format for the WYDOT text-based pages change?
In 2012 WYDOT began the process of bringing its text-based travel information pages in line with Federal Highway Administration (FHWA)
guidelines. The guidelines are based on national "best practices" that incorporate mechanisms to best get information to the public.
WYDOT has used the guidelines extensively in creating a column-based display that incorporates colors in an effort to provide "at a glance" information.

What information can be found in the "Restrictions" column?

Why are variable speed limit (VSL) messages located on a separate page?
In order to save screen real estate on the WYDOT District pages, the VSL information was removed to a separate page that
is available via a link. This was done because not everyone is looking for VSL information and the VSL information can be quite lengthy.
What is the target audience for each text-based information page?
